Home Energy Clearing

Home > Home Energy Clearing

Your Home Holds More Than Furniture. It Holds Memory.

I have been a meditator since I was nineteen years old. That is more than fifty years of daily practice — fifty years of learning to feel the invisible, to sense what a space holds beneath its surfaces, to distinguish between energy that is alive and moving and energy that has grown heavy and still.

In all my years as a contractor, I have walked into thousands of homes. And I can tell you this with complete certainty: every home has an energetic history. The joy that happened there. The grief. The conflict. The love. The long illness. The fresh beginning. That history does not disappear when the previous owners move out or when you paint the walls a new color. It lives in the walls, the floors, the corners — in the field of the home itself.

Home energy clearing is the practice of working with that field intentionally — releasing what no longer belongs there, restoring natural flow and vitality, and creating the conditions for your home to become what it truly is: a sanctuary.

What I Do — The Clearing Process

My approach draws on more than fifty years of meditation practice, training in Qigong, and a deep familiarity with the cross-cultural wisdom traditions that have been working with the energy of spaces for thousands of years. I blend these with my own gifts as a channel and practitioner.

No two clearings are alike, because no two homes — and no two clients — are alike. But here is what my process typically includes:

Deep Meditation & Energetic Attunement

Before I begin any physical clearing, I sit with the space in deep meditation. I open to it. I listen. Fifty years of practice have given me a quality of perceptual stillness that allows me to sense where energy is blocked or discordant — where it needs to move, where it needs to be released, and what is calling to be invited in. This attunement shapes everything that follows.

Visualization & Intentional Energy Work

Intention is the most powerful instrument in any clearing. I work with sustained, focused visualization — holding a clear inner picture of the space as it is meant to be, while actively directing energy through it. This is not passive imagining. It is deliberate, concentrated inner work, grounded in decades of meditation discipline. The space responds.

Distance Energy Clearing

Energy does not require physical proximity to be worked with effectively. I offer distance clearing for clients who are preparing to move into a new home, who are in the middle of a life transition, or who simply cannot arrange an in-person session. Distance clearing can be done before you set foot in a space — before the furniture arrives, before the first night’s sleep — so you enter a home that has already been prepared for you. Or it can be performed after you have taken move in.

One client, an artist, moved her family to Scotland and needed to sell her home in Upstate New York. The home was beautifully renovated but simply would not sell. There was a blockage of energy somewhere. I did a thorough house clearing and follow-up distance clearings. The house soon sold and the family is happy in their new lives overseas.

Sound Clearing

Sound is one of the oldest and most universal tools for clearing stagnant energy. Every tradition on earth discovered this independently. I work with hand bells, and intentional clapping to move through a space — breaking up energetic density in corners and low-traffic areas, then filling the room with fresh, resonant vibration. The change in the atmosphere of a room after sound clearing is something most people feel immediately.

Sacred Smoke & Herbal Clearing

Smoke carries intention. Burning plants with awareness and prayer is a practice found in nearly every culture across human history — Native American smudging with white sage, cedar, and sweetgrass; South American Palo Santo; European traditions of burning frankincense, myrrh, juniper; the Hindu use of sandalwood incense in purification ceremony. I work with these traditions respectfully, holding the lineage and meaning behind each practice, and use what herbs seem appropriate to the home. We complete the clearing and then we call in what belongs.

Salt Work

Salt absorbs discordant energy and has been used as a purifying and protective agent across dozens of unrelated traditions — from Feng Shui to Japanese Shinto to Celtic folk practice to the Hindu kitchen. I place salt in corners to absorb what the space is releasing during a clearing, then sweep it out. Salt at thresholds invites protection into what remains.

Intentional Water

Water charged with intention and prayer — sprinkled at thresholds, wiped across surfaces — is a practice of purification found in both Eastern and Western traditions. I work with water in a way that feels right for each home and each client.

Closing Ritual: Calling In the New

A clearing that ends with clearing alone is incomplete. Every tradition knows this. Once the old has been released, we actively invite in what belongs — balance, harmony, peace, light, love, protection, vitality, and the specific intentions of the people who will live in the space. This is the moment I find most sacred in the entire process. The home opens. Something settles. Clients often describe it as the space exhaling.

Who This Work Is For

You do not need to be deeply versed in energy work to benefit from a clearing. You need only to be open — and to have noticed that something about your home does not feel quite right, no matter what you have done to change it physically.

This work is for you if:

You are moving into a home with an unknown history and want to start fresh

You have renovated your space but it still doesn’t feel the way you hoped

You are moving through a major life transition — a loss, a divorce, a new beginning — and need your home to match where you are going, not where you have been

You are selling your home and want to release it fully and with intention

Something in the atmosphere of your home feels heavy, stuck, or simply off — and you can’t explain it any other way

You are spiritually aware and understand that physical and energetic wellbeing are inseparable

You simply want your home to feel like a true sanctuary — a place that genuinely restores you

When Clearing and Renovation Work Together

I am, first and foremost, a builder. I have spent twenty-five years doing honest, skilled renovation work in New England. And that experience has taught me something that changed the way I think about everything I do:

Physical renovation and energetic clearing work best when they happen together.

When you open walls, you disturb what has been held in them. When you tear out a kitchen that witnessed thirty years of a family’s life — its celebrations, its conflicts, its ordinary mornings — you release what that kitchen was holding. Renovation is inherently an act of energetic disruption. In my experience, it calls for energetic intention.

I clear before the work begins — to prepare the space for transformation. I clear the home often during the project, both in the home and remotely. And I clear after the work is complete — to settle the new energy in and close what was opened. Some clients find this the most natural thing in the world. Others encounter it for the first time through our work together and discover that it explains something they always felt but couldn’t name.

Either way, the result is a home that does not just look different. It feels different — down to its bones.

When You Are Ready

If you are ready to experience your home as the sanctuary it was always meant to be — or if you are simply curious and want to talk — I would love to hear from you. Every conversation begins with listening. That is where all of my work begins.
